Independent Electrical Inspection
& Defect Reports
A focused, evidence-led assessment when you need to understand an electrical concern, recurring fault or disputed defect before deciding what to do next.
Understand the problem before committing to remedial work
We agree the questions the inspection needs to answer, inspect and test within the agreed scope, and record what was found. Findings distinguish immediate safety concerns, matters requiring further investigation and non-urgent improvements.
A Defined Inspection With Useful Evidence
This service is for a specific electrical concern or decision. It can sit alongside a full EICR, building survey or quotation, but it does not pretend to replace services outside the agreed electrical scope.
Useful When the Issue Is Unclear or Contested
An independent inspection can help before buying a property, after repeated tripping or overheating, where previous electrical work is causing concern, or when different contractors have given conflicting explanations. The purpose is to establish the available evidence, not to assume the cause in advance.
Some defects cannot be fully diagnosed without isolation, dismantling, access behind finishes or extended monitoring. Any such limitation is explained, together with the safest proportionate next step.
For an assessment of the whole fixed installation, a homeowner EICR may be the better service. We will say so if a targeted defect inspection would not answer the wider question.
